Responsibilities
The Security Manager is responsible for the overall security management and deals with the in-house and out-sourced management team and control room & manguarding service provided by the external service provider. He ensures that the campus is safe and secure at all times and works in close collaboration with internal stakeholders, vendors, facilities team and NUS counterparts – the Office of Campus Security.
The duties (technical support) include:
- Control budgets for security operations and monitor expenses
- Attend meetings with other managers and internal stakeholders to determine operational needs
- Recruit, train and supervise security group leaders and outsourced vendors
- Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events
- Assist to coordinate crisis management security and operational-related response to emergencies and alarms
- Develop and champion counter-terrorism training plans and scenario role-plays
- Investigate and resolve issues eg. suspected theft, unauthorised access
- Review reports and analyse incidents and breaches to prevent similar occurrence
- Assist police or security stakeholders in on-scene investigations and data analytics to mitigate crime occurrence
- Analyse data to form proposals for improvement (eg. implementation of technology)
- To undertake any other duties as assigned
- To represent the Infrastructure team in setting a high standard of enforcement and set a good example to the out-sourced team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or at least a higher diploma in Management and Security Studies, Security Management, Science, Technology, Business or equivalent qualification
- At least 10 years relevant experience in security management with significant exposure to multiple stakeholders and management staff or client
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience, working as part of a high achieving one-stop integrated facilities management team
- Deep understanding of security and safety methods used to deliver a safe and secure environment
- Demonstrated experience of major crisis or incident management around life safety activities
- Able to commit to work overtime and weekends including peak periods and emergencies
